The singer — whose single "Tik Tok" and party-animal persona have helped her garner a devoted fanbase — said she might have found her party pal in Boyle, hinting at some good-natured chart competition.
"YO MTV!!! I gotta say ... Susan Boyle knows how to party," the MTV News Pop Week rookie wrote in an exclusive statement. "She partied at the top of the charts for 6 weeks now, but, THIS morning, thanks to all my fans, I TRULYYYY woke up feeling like P. Diddy with a #1 album!!!!!"
Ke$ha, who worked on the album with super-producers Max Martin and Dr. Luke and 3OH!3 and even hit the studio with Diddy himself, added: "Hollerrr!! I want to thank everyone who bought a copy of Animal, and I can't wait to see you on the road!!!! WOW!"
When she spoke to MTV News about the album late last year, Ke$ha hoped fans would relate to her music thanks to its "genuine sound and subject matter."
"I'm excited about it, because it kind of accurately documents my life over the past four years," she said. "And I think any girl, and hopefully guys too, can relate to the record. I talk about pretty much anything — you name it. ... I think that throughout the album, what I'm really proud of — I think every song you can tell it's me. It's all really honest — almost to a fault — and really genuine."
