With the release of "New Moon" just a few days away, "Twilight" mania seems to be taking over Hollywood. But at least one starlet wants nothing to do with the vampire craze. In a backstage interview at a show in Cleveland, Miley Cyrus told radio station Q92 that she's neither Team Edward nor Team Jacob — in fact, she's not even on team "Twilight." The singer said that not only has she never watched the vampire flick, but she doesn't plan to.

"I've never seen it and nor will I ever," Miley told surprised Q92 reporter Nikolina. The starlet went on to elaborate on what exactly it is about "Twilight" that offends her.

"I don't believe in it. I don't like vampires. ... I don't like the wolf that pops out of the screen when I'm watching my TV at night. I don't like it. I don't want anything to do with it. I don't like the shirts. I don't like any of it," she said.

But Miley knows she's in the minority when it comes to teenagers and the "Twilight" phenomenon: "I feel really lame because everyone's, like, so excited, and I'm like, 'Don't even talk about it.' "

Yet, as anti-"Twilight" as she may be, the "Hannah Montana" actress might just be forced to watch the series — if nothing more than for research. The singer recently signed up to work with "Twilight" producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey on "Wings," a fantasy movie — which bears some resemblance to the vampire series — about a 15-year-old who becomes a fairy.

It's not the first time the Disney star has gone against a popular trend. The singer of "Party in the U.S.A.," in which she claims a Jay-Z song helped ease her transition to L.A., recently admitted that she's never actually heard Jay-Z and that she doesn't really listen to pop music.

Miley, who was originally a huge proponent of the social-networking tool Twitter, also prompted a lot of chatter after she suddenly left the site and told a Chicago morning show that "Twitter should just be banned from this universe."

Miley Cyrus breaks up with boyfriend Justin Gaston

Disney Channel star Miley Cyrus has broken up with her boyfriend of almost nine months and is tweeting about it.

According to E! News, the 16-year-old ended her relationship last week with underwear model and aspiring singer Justin Gaston, 20, as she prepared to leave L.A. for her two-month shoot for "The Last Song" in Savannah, Ga.

Though her rep had no comment, the teen star and her ex-boyfriend's Twitter posts over the weekend reflected the breakup. (Her June 8 tweets included: "trying to smile through a gloomy day in savannah," and "life will go on. you will smile again.") Gaston quoted lyrics from John Mayer's "Dreaming With a Broken Heart" in a June 4 tweet.

The couple went through a rocky path because of Cyrus' resurrected friendship with ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas, of the Jonas Brothers, E! News reported.

"She obviously has been hanging out with Nick again a lot, and Justin was cool with it at first -- as long as it was just a cool friendly thing," a source close to Gaston told E! News. "She didn't cheat, but I guess Nick was trying to get her back the whole time."

Miley Cyrus signs on for more "Hannah"

"Hannah Montana" will shine on. Disney Channel has closed a deal for a fourth season of the blockbuster series starring Miley Cyrus.

The cable channel also has ordered a second season of its breakout new comedy series "Sonny With a Chance," starring Demi Lovato, and has tapped Jeffrey Hornaday, choreographer of such movies as "Flashdance" and "A Chorus Line," to direct and choreograph the fourth "High School Musical" movie.

There had been questions about whether Cyrus would return to the series that made her a global star, with the teen actress-singer recently expressing her intention to continue her small-screen duties as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana for one more year.

As part of the deal, Cyrus will get a long hiatus to work on the feature "The Last Song," with production on the fourth season of "Hannah Montana" slated to begin next year. (Filming of the show's third season wraps this week.)

The series will change settings next season, during which the Stewarts will grapple with saying goodbye to their beachfront Malibu home.

"That will provide the catalyst for wonderful new characters and further expand the storytelling opportunities," said Disney Channel Worldwide president Gary Marsh.

"Hannah Montana" -- which also stars Cyrus' dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, Emily Osment and Jason Earles -- draws an average of 4.4 million viewers per episode.

A 2007 episode of the show still ranks as the highest-rated basic cable series telecast ever with 10.7 million total viewers.

"Hannah Montana" has generated two double-platinum soundtracks, a No. 1 box-office movie, DVDs, a junior novel series, apparel, accessories, videogames and a Miley Cyrus concert tour, which spawned a 3-D film version that became the No. 1 concert film of all time.

"Hannah Montana" was created by Michael Poryes, Rich Correll and Barry O'Brien.

Since its premiere in February, "Sonny," toplined by rising star Lovato, has become TV's top program for kids 6-11.

Written by Peter Barsocchini, "High School Musical East Meets West," about the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights, is scheduled to premiere in 2010.

Lil Jon Gets Miley Cyrus' Old Phone Number

Friends of Miley Cyrus shouldn't be offended if, when they try to text or call the teen queen, she doesn't respond. They should know that these days they aren't getting in touch with Cyrus, but instead with rapper Lil Jon, who recently acquired the Disney star's old phone number.

"I was basically in shock, like, 'How did that happen?!' " Lil Jon said in a statement, according to "Access Hollywood." "Especially when I get texts like, 'Congratulations on Teen Vogue!' "

The rapper added that in addition to congratulatory texts, he's also been receiving calls from a lot of the stars' friends. Lil Jon doesn't seem to mind, now that the initial shock of getting the number has worn off. In fact, he's going to keep it and maybe eventually Cyrus' friends will realize it's not her number and finally get Cyrus' new digits.

"I'm gonna keep it 'cause I don't answer numbers I don't know anyway," he said. He added that he's a fan of the "Hannah Montana" star. "Yeah, I like Miley! My son likes her show," he told "Access Hollywood." "I'll probably run into her at some award show."

The rapper — whose new album, Crunk Rock, is coming out later this year — initially broke the news of getting Cyrus' old phone number on his Twitter page last week. He Tweeted, "How come I jus got a new phone number and it's f---ing Miley Cyrus old number!!! Stop callin me lil damn girls!!!! Trues story!! No BS!!"

Jamie Foxx Disses Miley Cyrus

Oh. Snap. Actor Jamie Foxx had some choice words for Miley Cyrus on his weekend Sirius radio show The Foxxhole.

When the on-air conversation veered toward the 16-year-old pop star, Foxx, 41, asked: "Who is Miley Cyrus?"

As someone explained Cyrus is the star of the popular Hannah Montana franchise, Foxx quipped, "The one with all the gums? She's got to get a gum transplant!"

That's not the only piece of advice the Oscar winner handed down to the Disney powerhouse. Foxx also suggested that Cyrus "make a sex tape and grow up. Get like Britney Spears and do some heroin. Do like Lindsay Lohan … and get some crack in your pipe … That's what I want."

A rep for Foxx had no comment and a rep for Cyrus did not respond to requests for comment.

Box Office Report: 'Hannah Montana: The Movie' wins the weekend

Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana: The Movie jumped out to a big lead at the box office and never looked back on this competitive holiday weekend. The Disney Channel adaptation took first place with a hefty, better-than-anticipated $34 million gross, according to early estimates from Media by Numbers.

That total exceeds the $31.1 mil that Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert opened with a year ago (although this film played in many more theaters), and it amounts to one of the top April debuts ever. Among live-action G-rated fare, this premiere ranks second all time, behind the $42 mil that High School Musical 3: Senior Year banked on its first weekend about six months ago. And Hannah Montana: The Movie did it all on the strength of a solid A CinemaScore review from a crowd that, not surprisingly, was 91 percent female and 77 percent under age 25.

Coming in at No. 2 was Fast & Furious, which earned a solid $28.8 mil on an expected 59 percent drop. Vin Diesel's car-franchise film has grossed $118 mil domestically -- and about $200 mil globally -- in 10 days. Monsters vs. Aliens (No. 3) was next with a strong third-weekend take of $22.6 mil.

Seth Rogen's Observe and Report disappointed in fourth place, with just $11.1 mil. Despite critical huzzahs, the R-rated mall-cop comedy drew a bad C CinemaScore review from a crowd that was two-thirds male. Next stop for it: home video.

Knowing rounded out the top five with $6.7 mil. And the weekend's other big new release, Dragonball: Evolution, was, as many predicted, a non-factor, bringing in $4.7 mil at No. 8 (and drawing a woeful C+ CinemaScore grade of its own).

Overall, the combined strength of the weekend's top three films pushed the frame up nearly 50 percent over the same period a year ago, when the Prom Night remake ruled the returns. Thus, this is the third "up" weekend in a row -- and second straight hugely up weekend -- and, with a $137 mil overall domestic take, it's also the biggest Easter weekend ever. Certainly, in Hollywood, that'll be something to celebrate on this holiday. Have a good one!

Racers too "Fast" for Hannah Montana at box office

Miley Cyrus and her fabulous alter ago, Hannah Montana, likely will be no match for hot-rod racers and cartoon aliens at movie theaters across North America this Easter holiday weekend.

Walt Disney Pictures' "Hannah Montana: The Movie," the first nonconcert feature starring the 16-year-old starlet, is expected to open at No. 3 across the United States and Canada, behind reigning champ "Fast & Furious" and former No. 1 "Monsters vs. Aliens," according to studio projections.

Box office watchers think another new release, the Seth Rogen comedy "Observe and Report," will take the No. 4 spot.

Disney hopes "Hannah Montana" will perform in the same range as 2003's "The Lizzie McGuire Movie," another big-screen vehicle for a Disney Channel star, in that case Hilary Duff. "Lizzie" opened to $17.3 million in 2003, and ended its domestic run with $42.7 million.

"We would love to be in the high teens," said Chuck Viane, president of domestic theatrical distribution at the Walt Disney Co-owned studio.

Business will get a boost from the Easter holiday, with three-quarters of children out of school on Friday and half of them also off on Monday, Viane said.

As in her TV series, Cyrus plays a regular schoolgirl by day and a pop star by night. But her father (real-life dad Billy Ray Cyrus) decides she needs to get back to her small-town roots, so takes her on a surprise trip to her old Tennessee home where love and other complications ensue.

TEENS HIT HURDLES

"Hannah Montana" reaches theaters six weeks after the disappointing launch of a concert movie by Disney stablemates the Jonas Brothers. Last week, the "Hannah Montana" movie soundtrack ended Cyrus' impressive hat trick of chart-toppers, opening at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with sales that were a fraction of those for her previous releases.

But Viane brushed off any suggestions that the latest teen idol might be losing some steam.

"I don't see this as being anything other than a terrific little movie by Miley," he said. "Until it opens you don't know, but I think you're going to see extremely good scores on this picture. It plays great to her fan base. It plays great to parents."

He pointed out that "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience," with total sales of about $19 million, is still the No. 2 concert movie of all time, behind "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour," which finished with $65 million early last year.

"Fast & Furious," meanwhile, should earn in the low $30 million range for Friday-to-Sunday period, observers said. The fourth film in Universal Pictures' fast-car franchise scored the biggest opening of the year last weekend with a $71 million haul. Universal is a unit of General Electric Co.

Viacom Inc's Paramount declined to forecast the performance of the DreamWorks Animation SKG-produced "Monsters vs. Aliens," which made about $33 million during its second round in theaters last weekend. Another drop of 45 percent should place it in the $18 million range.

"Observe and Report," starring Rogen as a security guard at a shopping mall, hopes to ring up an opening in the $14 million to $15 million range, said Warner Bros., a unit of Time Warner Inc.

Rogen did quite a bit better with such movies as last year's "Pineapple Express" ($23 million) and 2007's "Superbad" ($33 million), although both were summer releases. Earlier this year, TV comedian Kevin James' similarly themed "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" opened to $32 million.

Miley Cyrus Says Future Of 'Hannah Montana' Is 'Not Really Up To Me'

With "Hannah Montana: The Movie" hitting theaters Friday, many fans are wondering if the show will continue beyond its current third season. Star Miley Cyrus has mixed feelings, wanting to stick with "Hannah" and also hoping to move on to new, edgier projects.

"I would love for Hannah Montana to keep [going and] hopefully do another season," she told MTV News. "But it's not really up to me. Everyone kind of puts it on my shoulders, but at the end ... it's up to Disney and what they want to do with the show."

Until she knows her fate as the blond-wigged pop star, Cyrus does know that this summer she'll be gearing up to start work on, "The Last Song." "I'm doing a movie this summer with Nicholas Sparks," she said of the film, adding, "It's more of an edgy role."

Although Cyrus does feel the urge to grow up on the big screen, she doesn't want to let her work get so far removed from who she is in real life that she loses her faith. "I want to play edgy roles, but I think that my faith is obviously very important to me, so there's a way of doing that," she said. "Then also being the person that you want to be and not letting your roles take over your life, and I don't want to do anything wrong with my roles, because it's a job."

Cyrus hopes that as she grows as a person and a performer, she can follow in the path of another former Disney actress: Jodie Foster. "She's actually one of the nicest people, so if I was gonna go after anyone, it might be Jodie Foster," she said. "She's so nice, and me and her talk a lot, and she's almost like a mentor to me, so that would be someone that I would look up to."

Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Heart Condition

What "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus suffered when her relationship with Nick Jonas ended is not the only heart ailment she's talking about these days. In her new book, "Miles to Go," the teen star is telling her fans all about another kind of heart condition she suffers from: tachycardia.

The non-life-threatening condition makes Miley's heart rhythm exceed the range of a normal resting heart rate, reports "The Insider."

"The type of tachycardia I have isn't dangerous. It won't hurt me, but it does bother me," the 16-year-old wrote in her autobiography. "There is never a time onstage when I'm not thinking about my heart."

Miley also thinks about her heart when she talks about her former flame, Nick Jonas, whom she called "Prince Charming" in the book. When she stopped by "The View" on Monday, he was once again the subject of conversation.

"It was great and it was fun, but I was really young," she said of the relationship. "I live in a very mature world. ... We're just so busy. Unlike most 12-year-olds or 13-year-olds, we're, like, 'Oh yeah, I can't hang out with you today 'cause I gotta go to work. ... I'm in Germany doing a concert.' And so that got hard."

Although their love may have soured, she still holds a place for the young Jonas in her heart. "I still love him with everything in me," she said. "I think he is the greatest. I get asked all the time who's my favorite Jonas. Nick's my favorite Jonas. I'm happy with our friendship."

Another relationship that Miley addressed in the book is the one she shares with her father, country singer and "Hannah Montana" co-star Billy Ray Cyrus. "The media has said some stuff about my dad and me being too close and too cuddly for a father and a daughter," she wrote, reports The Stamford Times. "For me and my dad, it's not weird at all."

Cyrus: Nothing `weird' about relationship with dad

Miley Cyrus doesn't like to admit it, but she's bothered by people who think there's something wrong with the bond between her and her dad, singer Billy Ray Cyrus.

"The media has said some stuff about my dad and me being too close and too cuddly for a father and a daughter," the 16-year-old actress-singer writes in "Miles to Go," a new memoir. "For me and my dad it's not weird at all."

Cyrus' memoir, written with Hilary Liftin, will be published next month by Disney-Hyperion Books. The Associated Press purchased a copy put on sale early.

She doesn't directly mention last year's photo shoot for Vanity Fair, when she is shown reclining against her father, his arm around her shoulder, both of them somber and bare-armed - an image many found suggestive. But she does write that she loves her father (who co-stars on her "Hannah Montana" show), isn't afraid to show it, and "we don't let other people tell us what expressions we're supposed to have on our faces when we take a picture together!"

Acknowledging that fame inevitably attracts criticism, she writes of being hurt by comments posted about her on the Internet and concludes that some people are "so full of anger, hatred and bitterness."

Referring to the media, she regrets that people make profits off her troubles, and wishes they instead would profit from her "achievements."

Cyrus' records have sold millions of copies and her "I Thought I Lost You," featured in the movie "Bolt," was a Golden Globe nominee for best song. A film version of "Hannah Montana" comes out in April.

"In Miles to Go," Cyrus writes of her down-then-up relationship with another "Hannah Montana" star, Emily Osment. And she reflects on a certain ex-boyfriend, apparently fellow teen idol Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, mentioned not by name, but as "Prince Charming."

She tells of falling for him immediately at an AIDS benefit in 2006, of reuniting with him at a White House Easter Egg Roll during a time they had split up, and of the final parting, in December 2007.

Cyrus says it was the worst day of her life, and inspiration for her hit song "7 Things I Hate About You."

"It's hard to imagine that our love is a story with an end," she writes. "But you know, at least I'm getting some really good songs out of it."

The 266-page book was written for young people, her core audience, with photos, notes scrawled in the margins and plenty of lists. Cyrus advocates family, friendship and pursuing one's dreams, but also mentions the price - not just the loss of privacy, but the loss of self.

Toward the end of the second season of "Hannah Montana," she fell into despair; "self-hatred" that started with a common affliction, acne, and developed into something greater. She had turned Hollywood, become a "brat," forgotten her own identity.

The blues blew away thanks to Vanessa, a 9-year-old with cystic fibrosis whom Cyrus met at a Los Angeles hospital and instantly connected with.

"I'd been praying to God to take away my vanity and self-centeredness," she writes. "When I met Vanessa, all the superficial obsession over my skin, and all the darkness I'd been feeling, fell away."-AP

Charice to Perform with Miley Cyrus and David Archuleta

Our very own Charice will join Hannah Montana teen superstar Miley Cyrus and American Idol season 7 runner-up David Archuleta as headliners of this year’s Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Nov. 27, 2008.

According to Funfare’s Big Apple correspondent Edmund Silvestre of the Philippine Star:

“Charice will join Hannah Montana megastar Miley Cyrus and American Idol runner-up David Archuleta as headliners of this year’s Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Nov. 27. The event, presented by Macy’s, the world’s largest retail store, is one of America’s most lavish celebrations seen by over 3.5 million live spectators and over 44 million televiewers across the US. Aside from famed celebrities, the event’s notable attractions are its inflated giant balloons in the shape of well-loved cartoon or comic book characters.”

Charice, Miley and David will ride on different colorful floats and will perform separately along with other notable artists such as James Taylor, Andy Williams, The Cheetah Girls, Broadway superstars Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth, the cast of Broadway musical Hairspray, the muppets cast of Sesame Street

, plus Miss USA Crystle Stewart.

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, Charice will promote David Foster’s album (in which she has 2 tracks) on Good Morning America on ABC, live from the Times Square in Manhattan. According to reports, Charice’s US album is also in the works.
