Lopez-led ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. ended 2009 on a high note, as its pro-grams dominated the national urban TV audience measurement (NUTAM) survey conducted last month by Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) Media Research Philippines.

Ex-PBB housemate Sam Pinto admits dating Jake Cuenca

Sam Pinto, the latest Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Double Up evictee, admitted Sunday that she used to date Jake Cuenca before the actor became a household name. The relationship though did not prosper because Cuenca, according to Pinto, became busy with his work.
“I don’t know. Naging busy siya sa soap niyang ‘Tayong Dalawa,’” she told “The Buzz” during her live interview.

ABS-CBN's Showtime Suspended for 20 days

MANILA, Philippines - The Movie & Television Review & Classification Board (MTRCB) on Monday placed the ABS-CBN talent show "Showtime" on a 20-day preventive suspension, after an incident involving one of the show's judges.
During a live show last January 7, judge Rosanna Roces made controversial statements against the show's teachers and co-judge Vice Ganda.

‘Twilight’ is No. 1 in RP for 2008, will Have Local Remake by ABS-CBN

Twilight, the movie adaptation of the best-selling novel by Stephanie Meyer, has earned more than P180 million to be the no. 1 Hollywood movie at the Philippines Box Office for 2008.

Twilight is a vampire movie starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison. It’s box office gross in the Philippines was a whopping P179,132,250 on its 4th week run. It will end it’s 5th week run today as the Metro Manila Film Festival starts tomorrow at Christmas Day.

To date, it’s the no. 1 top-grossing movie for 2008 in the Philippines both in foreign and local categories outgrossing Iron Man, The Dark Knight and A Very Special Love by surpassing the P180 million mark.

The success of the movie doesn’t end there. ABS-CBN announced recently that it bagged the exclusive rights to make a local television series based on the best-selling vampire novels of Stephanie Meyer.

According to reports, ABS-CBN acquired the rights for 1 million US Dollars, or around P48 million pesos, with co-producer Ignite Media for the local tv version of the series.

Tentatively titled “Takipsilim” (the tagalog word for Twilight), and it will star Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayao.

Taping for the series will start February under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina.

ABS-CBN 2008 Christmas Station ID

ABS-CBN has just launched the official Kapamilya Christmas Station ID for 2008.

This year’s theme is “May Katuparan ang Hiling sa Kapamilyang Kapiling.” Selected Kapamilya stars like Judy Ann Santos, Dolphy, Sharon Cuneta, Gabby Concepcion, Sam Milby, Boy Abunda, Kris Aquino, John Lloyd Cruz, Angel Locsin, Ai Ai delas Alas, KC Concepcion, etc. share what Christmas means to them and how they celebrate the season with their families. The theme song “Kapamilyang Kapiling” is sung by Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.
